THE COURSE
The One Lung Ventilation simulation and workshop is held twice a year at Guy’s Hospital, London. Popular among both thoracic and non‑thoracic anaesthetists, the course is delivered by Consultant Thoracic Anaesthetists, anaesthetic practitioners, and Thoracic Surgeons.
The course has limited capacity to gain maximum hands on experience during the course. The course is delivered over one day. The morning session comprises of hands-on workshops:
Double-lumen tube placement
Difficult airway management for one lung isolation
Bronchial blocker placement
Simulated fibrescopic management (ORSIM)
Ultrasound guided paravertebral blocks
The afternoon session immerses the delegates in high fidelity simulation scenarios to practice and discuss common team scenarios.
